They will help you diagnose many different problems quickly and easily. If you want more help in understanding text files and how to edit them, please read my guide on modding. These tools should probably be first on your list after the Tablet. Below 1 will decrease the power and above 1 will increase the power for a vehicle. The power multiplier line multiplies the power in the engine file by whatever is listed. You can edit the power multiplier (pm) line in a vehicle text file, under engine, to change how much power just that vehicle makes. You can edit the engine text file to alter the amount of power that engine would have, as a base line for power. If you want more power and you've already installed every possible performance part and have a gain of 18% with a tune, the only way to increase the power for a specific engine / vehicle combo would be to edit the text files. This should get rid of the headache of getting the peak tune of 18% each and every time you put a vehicle on the dyno. This is what makes it possible to level upwards with a tune as you eventually do the exact same thing to each bar. Then I paid more attention to the fact that what you do to one bar, the exact opposite will happen to the rest. Originally this guide was written by looking for a more elaborate pattern to solve the tuning mini-game. I hope this was easy enough to follow, if you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comments. Because it levels by 2% each time, you will not miss 18%, which is possible with the ECU tuning tool.Īnd finally, the maximum gain possible of 18%. This may sound confusing but once you're experimenting with the tuner, it will make sense.įor carburetors, you level up by 2% each time, as seen below. Past 18% becomes 2% and past 2% becomes 18%. If you go past the minimum or the maximum, the bar will go to the other side of the chart. Remember, what you do to one bar the exact opposite happens to the rest. This is due to either going up in one bar (adding) and down in two bars or going down in one bar (subtracting) and up in two bars. By subtracting (-) to each bar in a row, you'll end up increasing the percentage for the proper ratio. By adding (+) to each bar in a row, you'll end up decreasing the percentage for the proper ratio. This will allow you to move from say 2% all the way to 18%.Ī quick note about adding (+) or subtracting (-). Do not add and subtract at this point, so pick one and stick with it. You level upwards by either adding (+) OR subtracting (-) to each bar going from left to right or right to left. The guess work is now done and all I have to do is level upwards with the tune. Now that I have balanced the bar graph and reached a proper ratio, getting to the optimum tune is easy. Always keep the three balanced bars together until you have all four bars balanced, like below. If this doesn't happen, either keep adding (+) to the unbalanced bar or do another set of subtractions (-) for the three balanced bars. This leveled all four bars out to the same point. Within a few clicks, I had balanced three of the four bars.įrom here, I subtracted (-) once from each of the three balanced bars and then added (+) twice to the unbalanced bar. It's important to understand that when you add (+) or subtract (-) to one bar, the exact opposite happens to all the rest. My initial tuning was done and I could now focus on the optimum tune.įor ECU's, due to having four bars it can take longer to reach a balanced state. From the initial tune, I added (+) to the right column and then subtracted (-) to the left column and reached a balanced point of 8%. This will require adding (+) or subtracting (-) randomly to each of the bars in order to get to a balanced state.įor Carburetors, you should be able to balance out the three bars with three or four operations. In order to reach the optimum tune using the solution in this guide, the tune has to reach a proper ratio of any percentage. Below is an example of an initial tune for each tuning tool. When you reach a potential balanced point with the tune, the tool will say proper ratio in the lower right corner. The carburetor tuning tool has three bars that have to be balanced and the ECU tuning tool has four bars that have to be balanced. Depending on the vehicle, it will need to have the carburetor(s) or the ECU tuned in the appropriate mini-game.

Studios pick a particular tool because of overall efficiency (at a team/company level), not because it makes the result particularly better. The tool matters very little in the quality of your art. Try each one for like a week, see how comfortable you get. It’s also based on view so edges might be tricky. You’ll need to adjust the sizing, tiling, and strength to get the look you want. GuitPro's PDF output is also lacking in that it won't allow font embedding - that means that if you send it to someone without GP, the PDF reads gibberish. Tux won't let you do this as soon as the bar is full it opens a new one. GuitarPro is good, but has an annoying feature which allows you to overfill a bar (& gives no clues as to what you've done wrong). Lilypond also puts timing information in the tab (rests, stops etc) that I've not seen anywhere else, oh, and it's free. TuxGuitar's mascot and namesake is Tux, the penguin mascot of many games. 3 In addition, TuxGuitar's tablature and staff interfaces function as basic MIDI editors. There is a workaround however, as Tux can output to Lilypond format (*.ly) & that produces some very legible (if rather old-fashioned) PDFs:- TuxGuitar is a free and open-source tablature editor, which includes features such as tablature editing, score editing, and import and export of Guitar Pro gp3, gp4, and gp5 files. The tab side of it's fine though as it doesn't include timing information. Similarly, beamed notes of multiple duration display incorrectly. If you print to PDF (I use Acrobat) it's much better, but doesn't display stopped or dotted notes properly. For some reason Tux produces a PDF of a really compressed jpeg so legibility suffers. Like other tab editors, TuxGuitar allows composers to insert notes and chords that map to corresponding guitar tabs. It is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. As soon as something new moves into the local folders Google Drive is keeping an eye on, the files will be uploaded to the cloud in the background. Using the desktop software also makes the uploading process much easier, as it’s a more automated process. First, it means that if your computer is offline or has a slow internet connection, you can still watch those HD videos you’ve got stored in your Google Drive folder. There are a few reasons to sync files locally rather than just accessing Google Drive through your web browser every time. When using the software, your documents will be simultaneously on your hard drive and available on the web, though you can choose which files and folders are stored locally and which aren’t. Overall, this collection added enough to the High Republic story to make it worth reading, but it is probably best enjoyed after closing out the novels of the phase 1 series. Qort was also enjoyable, partly because his portrayal forced the reader to contemplate him on the visuals of the graphic novel format alone, and partly because his character still remains largely mysterious. It was good to see him grow from a disillusioned kid with ill-defined anger into a cunning planner whose motivations and ideals were finally beginning to crystallize. The relationship angle, which was the main arc of this comic series, took too much page time away from the worldbuilding, political intrigue, and space fantasy that draw readers to Star Wars in the first place.Ī couple characters stood out as well developed and were enjoyable to follow. The story itself was fairly linear and straightforward, with no real surprises or twists. The crossover to the events and key players in the novels was just enough to anchor the story, and not enough to make the reader remember with each installment that this is a High Republic era story. This series introduces a new slate of characters whose story runs parallel to the action of the High Republic phase 1 novels.
